What we build
Infrastructure as code with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and orchestration where warranted, observability with metrics, logs and tracing, security hardening and secrets management, disaster recovery and backup, and cost analysis and optimisation.
AWS, GCP or Azure — whichever you already run. We do not recommend migrating clouds without a strong reason, because it is expensive and rarely delivers what people expect.
How it works
Assessment first, then foundations — infrastructure as code and deployment pipeline — then observability, then hardening and cost work. Handover with runbooks and training is part of the engagement rather than an afterthought.
Typical engagement is six to ten weeks depending on current state.
Where this applies
Strongest where deployment is manual or feared, where infrastructure knowledge sits with one person, or where cloud spend has grown without scrutiny.
Weakest for a single simple application on a managed platform. Do not build a platform engineering practice around one service.
How we scope and price
Fixed scope, quoted after an assessment. Cost is driven by current infrastructure maturity, environment count, and compliance requirements. Ongoing managed operation is available where you would rather not staff it internally, but we build for you to operate it yourselves by default.
Frequently asked questions
Usually not. Managed services handle most workloads at lower operational cost and complexity. Kubernetes earns its place at real scale or where you already have the expertise. It is the most commonly over-recommended technology in this category.
Usually, often substantially. Right-sizing, reserved capacity, storage tiering and removing orphaned resources. We start with an analysis so the saving is measured rather than promised.
Six to ten weeks typically. Deployment pipeline improvements often land within the first two, so the benefit arrives early.
That is the objective. Infrastructure as code, documentation, runbooks and training. Infrastructure only a vendor understands is a liability regardless of how well built it is.
Rarely worth it. Migration is expensive, disruptive, and the savings usually turn out smaller than projected. There are legitimate reasons — compliance, a genuine capability gap — but "the other one is cheaper" is usually not one.
Secrets management, least-privilege access, network segmentation, patching and audit logging as standard. Formal compliance certification is a separate exercise we can support but do not conduct.
